Summer Placement Had Companies Like Air India, Ircon, Indian Railways, DDA, Contec Recruit B.Tech. Interns From MVSIT, Sonepat
Mahavir Swami Institute of Technology (MVSIT), Sonepat just
cruised a very successful internship season under the aegis of the institute.
The B.Tech. 6th semester students practiced their last three years’
classroom education in real-life at various organizations across India and
returned back to the classroom with fresh industry knowledge.
This year, contrary to expectations, demonetization did not
prove to be a hindrance for placing the B.Tech. students at top internships. Be
it ECE, Civil, CSE or Electronics Engineering, almost 75% of the batch
conducted their internships with the highest stipend being offered by Contec
Global followed by Air India. The stipend offered by Contec Global to one of
Electronics and Computer Science Engineering (ECE) student of MVSIT is that of
INR 25,000.
MVSIT, Sonepat saw TCS, TATA Power DDL, DRDO, Indian Railways,
BSES, D.M.R.C, DDA, Dish TV, Satcom, Food Coproration of India, among many
others, recruit MVSIT students as interns for summer, 2018. More than 30+
companies hired the future graduates and helped them learn through rigorous
on-sight and on-desk training.
In the words of Prof. (Dr.) Barjesh Kochar, Director, MVSIT-
“India churns out at least 1.5 million engineering graduates every year yet a
lot stays unhired simply because of lack of practice based training. At MVSIT,
we are trying daily to make learning a two-way process. No class session is
complete unless backed with a small piece of application or practice based
session, plus, the internship platform serves as a major highlighter for the
students to be industry-ready by the time they graduate.”
Indeed, students Saurabh Kaushik of ECE, Mahavir Swami Institute
of Technology (MVSIT) was on cloud nine on being able to complete his internship
at INR 25,000 over an important project allotted to him at the New Delhi based
organization- Contec Global. When asked to Manas Khemka as he returned from his
Summer Internship with Air India, about his experience, Manas replied, “the
work I did at my internship was highly rewarding. I did my project around SEM
and Digital Communication under the guidance of a strong mentor at the
organization and this stint has helped me learn a lot about how things work in
the corporate sector.” Manas was offered a stipend of INR 20,000 during his two
months’ stay with Air India as an intern.
Another sector that is reaping from demonetization is the
Digital world. With India’s enormous shift towards Digitization, MVSIT is
working towards making its graduates compatible for the world of Digital and
Artificial Intelligence.
MVSIT’s newly adopted academic focus on Practice based learning
is paying dividends. Through massive emphasis on “doing by learning”,
workshops, regular research based assignments, Lab sessions, industry
interactions, the GGSIP affiliated Mahavir Swami Institute of Technology (MVSIT) is now poised towards newer highs.
